The council has pushed ahead with its “flagship” development of the Winstanley estate, as the co developer, despite constant objections by local residents and concerns about the reach and accuracy of it’s “consultation”.
The reasoning for a 32 storey building here, or the 22 storey tower in Battersea Church Road is that the market demands it due increase in population.
But the population has dropped by a million in London in the last year.
Tree protectors have occupied the iconic Black Poplar tree in the centre of York Gardens since the early hours of 22nd February 2021, and have remained steadfastly in the tree since despite numerous illegal attempts to evict them.
It is not to late to save York Gardens and the destruction of these trees!
